SYATP!  Right after seeing Paul Brooks off to surgery this morning, I met with 15 or so students, Coach Tony Devary (CR FCA rep) one other Dad, and Rich Silvay for See You At The Pole.

How impressive to see young men and women, gathered around our nation's banner, and praying for our country, our military, our churches...and their school!

I found myself wondering if, when I was 16 or 17, I would have had the courage to stand in front of my school, as my peers were getting off their buses, and engaged in open prayer.

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12

God bless you all!  Pastor Jim

The Three Stones Press; for 26 Sep.2011

News and information on
events and opportunities to
serve in, about, and from Three Stones Church

Why Three Stones?  It has long been my perspective that the church, any church, all churches, exist for only three purposes – worship, evangelism, and discipleship.  As we have moved into the process of bringing the Three Stones church into existence, I have grown to believe this even more deeply.  These stones represent the foundation upon which this church is to be built.

Worship:  Anything we do to focus on God as the Father as the center of our lives.

Evangelism
:  Following the lead of the Holy Spirit to reach others and bring them to the Father, through the work of the Son.

Discipleship
:  Following the model and example of Jesus, the Son of God, to enable believers to do the work to which God the Father is calling them.

Worship
:  Worship is to be enabled by worship services, then extended into our lives.  Small group worship.  Family worship.  Individual worship…worship.

Evangelism:  During worship services and small groups we should learn about, and be encouraged to, share the Good News of the Gospel.

Discipleship
:  All of us should seek to disciple and to be discipled.

"And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them. Mark 10:16

Jesus set an example for us, by taking the little ones in His arms and blessing them…may we follow His example!

Thoughts for the week:

How can I worship daily?

Who needs to hear that Jesus loves them?

Who can help me grow in Christ?  Who can I help?

Can I spend less energy bringing the world into the church, and more energy bringing the church to the world?

Welcome to Three Stones Church

Chances are, if you are reading this, you are knee-deep in this new thing God is doing in Delaware, this new beginning, this Three Stones Church.

Three Stones.

Worship.

Evangelism.

Discipleship.

Everything any church does should fall into or support or be seen through the lens of one or more of these three cornerstones of the church.

While these "stones" do not particularly define our Triune God, they do help us see and move and act and be.

Worship is the act, not just on Sunday mornings, of keeping God at the center of our church, our family ourselves.

Evangelism is following God the Holy Spirit as He seeks to bring others, to woo them, to the Father, and doing our part along with the Spirit.

Discipleship is following the command of the Master Discipler, God the Son, Jesus. Enabling believers to be Spirit and Truth worshipers, and active evangelists.

This page may stay or go as our web presence grows and develops, but for now, look for the links on the side to get more information, and to enjoy some worship vidoes. Email me anytime for further information at james.dorton@gmail.com.
